What we offer

Pre-School Classes

Tiny Steps is a creative movement class that introduces the idea of other dance forms, and broadening musicality. This class will help the physical, intellectual and social development of children from a very young age. In particular they can develop their motor skills, coordination, listening, concentration and social skills through well-structured classes. Children will learn to work in groups and develop their creative skills and many will go on to develop a love of dance and music.

Ballet Bees is our pre-school ballet class, for children aged 2-4 years. This class introduces ballet technique, rhythm and musicality in a fun and exciting way. It is a fun and relaxed lesson, using props like scarfs, hula hoops and ribbons and is a good foundation to start grade work at a later stage.

Mini & Me dance class is an opportunity for you to have some fun with your toddler. This class is aimed at toddlers and parents or carers to dance together while focusing on rhythm, movement, music and fun!

Classes

Classic Ballet

Classic Ballet follows the Russian style of ballet. The Russian method of Ballet education has been devised and refined over centuries. The goal of this system is to produce artistically expressive, technically able, powerful dancers through a well balanced and highly logical method. The strong technique of this system creates what is often termed "the Russian style", which is immediately recognisable. It is, however, more than a style, it is the solid foundation of pure classical ballet.

RAD Ballet

The Royal Academy of Dance method, is a ballet technique and training system, specially devised by the founders of the RAD, who merged their respective dance methods (Italian, French, Danish and Russian) to create a new style of ballet that is unique to the organisation. RAD pays attention to detail when learning the basic steps with difficulty increasing slightly between grades making difficult steps easier to learn. This style of ballet has become recognised internationally as the English style of ballet.

Tap

Tap is a fun rhythmic form of dance that helps coordination, stamina and timing. Students learn a mixture of set technical exercises and musical appreciation. Tap dancers, or Hoofers as tappers are called, use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. Today we mainly see this type of dance in musical theatre. A great discipline to learn and fun to perform.

Modern

Modern dance centres on a dancer's own interpretations instead of structured steps, as in traditional ballet dancing. It's a form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance employing a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas. This class explores lots of different dance styles from jazz to lyrical technique and improvisation.

Contemporary/Lyrical

Lyrical contemporary dance blends the beautiful extended lines of ballet with the release and fluidity of contemporary dance to create expressive, emotional choreography. Students will often perform to music with lyrics. The lyrics of the chosen song serve as inspiration for the dancers' movements and expressions. Music used for these dances are typically emotionally charged and expressive.

Flamenco

Flamenco dance is a highly expressive, Spanish dance form, characterised by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm and body movements. The flamenco is an opportunity to express yourself and be creative. In flamenco there is always something to learn, something to create and it's a great way to share an artistic passion with other friends.

Street Dance

Street dance is a free style dance which incorporates other styles such as Hip Hop, Breakdance and House; our Street Dance classes will introduce you to these core street styles, put them into practice with exciting choreography, and help you learn to improvise with confidence.

Gymnastic

Gymnastics is designed to develop strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination and technique, incorporating gymnastic tricks with dance.

This class is perfect for children who enjoy dance and/or gymnastics.

Belly Dance

Belly Dance is a fantastic way to embrace your femininity, inspiring you to find beauty and power within your body, whilst having fun. This class introduces the ancient roots of belly dance technique and how to combine it with elements of other dance forms.
In this class you will learn how to move fluidly and how to control your body parts while improvising flexibility, posture and toning the abdominals.
Now also available in Stroud.

Dance Fitness

Dance Fitness is a type of group fitness class that incorporates some or many forms of dance. It's a full body aerobic workout, divided into different tracks that provide peaks and troughs of intensity. The overall intensity of a class varies depending on the style you're doing.
Dance Fitness classes offer a relaxed environment where you can really let your inhibitions go, get the results you want, learn some new moves and meet some great people along the way

Choreography Class

This class will introduce students to both the exploration of the choreographic process and the basic tools used in choreography. We will explore the elements involved in putting together a routine; including space, time, speed & movement quality. Students will ultimately choose the music, costume and will choreograph their own routine, along with instructor’s direction. Come along and explore your creativity whilst having fun and making new friends.

Dance Fusion

Dance Fusion is an improvised lead-follow approach to dancing to any style of music that does not have a strictly defined dance aesthetic. Just as music adopts, adapts to, and blends with various influences and styles, dance fusion accomplishes the same in the form of dance. This is a fun, varied dance class.
