Children will move into this class after taking the Early Primary Ballet exam or children who wish to progress without taking exams. However, it is not a requirement as older children starting ballet for the first time may move straight into this class.

Exercise’s start to become more technical and is the first grade to introduce the barre. Some exercises are taught primarily on the barre which gives the stability and support when using the steps in the centre in later grades.

Primary ballet will be the first examination that children will take part in without the teacher.
